Those Crazy Drummers

Ringo StarrDrummers are cool because they represent organized chaos. Operating within the beat, they go crazy. Totally crazy.

Ringo, John Bonham, Keith Moon and a mess of others keep their bands rocking and rolling with wild eyes and lightening hands. Who's your fav drummer?

Peace.

P.S. I case you haven't noticed, I painted all 4 Beatles again. I wasn't going to sell the Lennon, but if you buy all 4, you'll convince me to part with it. And you'll get $25 off each, also only paying shipping for one, making a total of $610. But if someone buys one of them individually, the deal's off.

So here're the PayPal buttons for Ringo by himself and for The Beatles all together now:

  1. Hello Daniel, thanks for visiting my blog and introducing me to yours and your facinating work! I think I need to explore more here to learn about your process...which I will do.

You asked about my favorite drummer...well, there are so many. I would have to be remiss, though, not to say it is Jay Rosenthal who is really more of a percussionists. I would also have to add Ringo into that mix along with Mic Fleetwood.

Keep on creating...there are some cool things going on here.

    Peace to you!

  3. Hmmm... My favorite drummer? Keith Moon could certainly be my favorite. Right along side with Keith would be Carl Palmer.

  6. Heather, nice ones! '80s and '90s alt/post-punk rock drummers certainly don't get the widespread rep they deserve. Often they're the most important part of their band's sound! Thanks for the excuse to listen to some music I paid less attention to growing up.

Randy, excellent. Session drummers are frikkin' amazing to me.

  8. Of course the usuals - John Bonham & Keith Moon are excellent.

My other favorites: Ginger Baker (Cream), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac) with odd facial expressions & all, and also Don Henley (who isn't usually recognized as being any good, but he really is a pretty okay drummer!).
