There Really Is Good Stuff In Star Wars

Now I must be getting off track. I paint portraits of musicians on vinyl, right?

Mother's Day, this past Sunday, was hard for us who've lost. Our family has lost more than Jason, it's lost the universe. Or at least it feels that way. The thing about our family is that everybody means so much to everybody. I even married into it and I get it. We get how people connect genuinely with unconditional love. Without reading "The Meaning of Happiness" by Alan Watts, there is understanding of Life and how to be in harmony with it.

I almost finished that book today while waiting for our car to get its tune-up, hoping to get my bearings, my tune-up, as well. Since losing Jason, I've gone on blind faith that the universe is still as it should be and that it operates by the same rules. I turned to Watts because years ago as a teenager, he helped me immensely in forming my understanding of the world and Life. I thought that since I didn't feel I could trust my own judgement at the moment, I'd look to someone who in better days I could trust.

Each individual is Life and Life is each individual: "the force", if you will, from the great pop philosophy of Lucas. So losing an individual feels like losing Life. Especially when all in the family are so closely tied, a double-edged sword for sure. My wife described it thus, "Imagine what would happen to your universe if gravity suddenly started pulling sideways".

I'm trying to get back my focus on my art and promotion of same, I really am. But it's hard. There are a lot of gods and demons at work that need attention and acceptance. I was informed today that 3 of the pieces I sent to Florida have been bought by gallery staff, so that's pretty cool! Getting people who work around art all the time to add to their collection is darn gratifying. It's gratifying that people at all are circulating their dispensible income to support and share passion for music.

Peace. Be well ("Do, or do not. There is no try.").

And thank you for your attention.
